Privacy notice

Pencl Ltd ("Pencl", "we") is the data controller for personal data processed through pencl.app, app.pencl.app and portal.pencl.app. This notice describes how we handle that data under UK GDPR.

What we collect

Account data (your name, email and any company details you add), survey and quote content you create, customer contact details (used to send quotes), payment metadata via Stripe (we never store full card numbers), and analytics data via Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity if you accept analytics cookies.

How we use it

To provide the Pencl service, to bill you, to send your quotes to your customers on your behalf, to send essential service emails (auth, payment receipts), and to improve the product based on aggregated analytics.

Cookies and analytics

On the marketing site (pencl.app) we use Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity. All three are gated by a consent banner. The default is no analytics until you accept. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the "pencl_consent" cookie.

Sharing

We share data with our payment processor (Stripe), our email provider (Resend) for transactional email, our LLM provider (OpenAI) for text cleanup features, and our analytics providers named above. We do not sell data to advertisers.
